Nerja Cave Festival:Nerja Municipal Band

Tuesday, July 22: Created in 1989 by an initiative of the Fundación Municipal de Cultura. Its members, young Nerjeños, have received musical studies under the direction of Don José Pedro Almendro del Pino, the chief conductor since its start. They participate in all cultural and institutional activities and manifestations of the town: Easter, summer concerts, Christmas parties, concerts in the Cultural Centre and the Balcon de Europa…

Banda Municipal Música Nerja

They have been invited to perform on several occasions at the Andalucía Music Competition in Chauchina-Granada; make a recording for Canal Sur Radio; take part in the inauguration of the I Feria de Muestras de los Pueblos held in Málaga and also the Band contest in Benagalbón. The band continues to be invited for many band reunions, meetings and competitions throughout the Malaga Province. In 2000, they recorded “Easter in Nerja” CD. They have participated in Cofradia processions in Malaga, Velez Malaga and Nerja. They also participates in contests in Cúllar -Vega (Granada) and Torrox (Málaga). They have performed in Salamanca, Zaragoza, Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Cáceres, and Lisbon.

They performed in the 50th Festival Cueva de Nerja, and were declared a Cultural Institution by the Nerja Town. In 2013, they performed the opening concert for the 54th Cueva de Nerja Festival, accompanying pianist Daniel Ligorio.

All performances on the Balcon are free and begin at 10 pm.

Nerja Cave Festival: Iñaki Fresán & Coral Alminares.

Sunday, July 20 : Iñaki Fresán, baritone, born in Pamplona, began his musical studies at Conservatorio Pablo Sarasate under the direction of Edurne Aguerri. On a scholarship from the Navarra Government, he continued his studies in Barcelona with Victoria de los Angeles. He has also had course in interpretation with Irmgard Seefried and Gérard Souzay. He has received awards in various international competitions, the Salzburg Foundation for the Development of Arts, Science and Literature gave him an Award for the Promotion of Song from the Sommerakademie Mozarteum . Nerja Cave Festival:Nuria Fergó and Malaga Symphony Orchestr

Saturday, July 19 2014: Nuria Fernández Gómez, better known as Nuria Fergó, is a Nerja born singer and actress. She rose to fame in 2001 in the successful first edition of the Operación Triunfo competition. In 2002 she debuted in the charts with “Brisa de Esperanza”. Nerja Cave-Upper Galleries and New Galleries.

A narrow passage located at the top of the far southeast end of the Cataclysm Chamber is the entrance to the area not generally open to the public. Painting at Nerja Cave

Nerja Cave  paintings are found throughout the site, both on the walls and on the stalagmites. While the prehistoric artists were more active in the Lower Galleries, they also produced interesting work in the Upper ones.
